Tennessee Baseball Welcomes Transfer Pitcher Brody Trosclair from Northwestern State
The Tennessee baseball program has announced the addition of Brody Trosclair, a transfer pitcher from Northwestern State, who made his commitment public on June 8. Trosclair, a rising sophomore, shared the news on social media following his campus visit on June 7, where he also considered offers from LSU and Arkansas.
Trosclair is the second transfer to join Coach Josh Elander’s roster this offseason, following Braydon Kersey, a two-way player from Mercer, who committed just two days earlier on June 6. Both newcomers will bolster a Tennessee pitching staff that will now be under the guidance of new pitching coach Austin Knight, who previously worked at East Carolina.
The Tennessee pitching lineup is undergoing significant changes after the departure of several key players, including starting pitchers Tegan Kuhns, who was drafted into the MLB, and Evan Blanco, who has exhausted his eligibility. Additionally, relievers Taylor Tracey and Brayden Krenzel, along with freshman pitcher Ari Bethea, have entered the transfer portal.
As a standout at Northwestern State, Trosclair earned the title of Southland Conference Freshman of the Year and secured a spot on the all-conference first team. He concluded his season with an impressive 5-1 record and a 1.89 ERA over 10 appearances, including four starts. His season was cut short by an arm injury in early April, during which he recorded 55 strikeouts against 11 walks in 38 innings pitched.
