Texas A&M's Sawyer Farr Joins NCAA Transfer Portal After Two Seasons
After spending two years at Texas A&M, infielder Sawyer Farr has made the decision to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, as reported by On3’s Pete Nakos. During his sophomore year, Farr participated in 19 games, registering 10 hits from 40 at-bats, which included three doubles and seven runs batted in. He also recorded six walks but struck out 13 times.
All of Farr's appearances this season were as a starter at second base. In contrast, his freshman year in 2025 saw him take on a more significant role, with 31 starts in 39 games. However, he faced challenges that season, finishing with a batting average of just .176 and an on-base plus slugging percentage of .552 over 85 at-bats.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 190 pounds, Farr was highly regarded as a prospect when he graduated from Boswell High School, ranked as the No. 67 player in the 2024 recruiting class by Perfect Game. He is also eligible for the MLB Draft this summer.
Farr is the third member of the Aggies to enter the Transfer Portal, joining right-handed pitchers MJ Bollinger Jr. and Luke Billings. For ongoing updates on player movements, fans can refer to the On3 Transfer Portal wire and follow their social media accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
