Three Michigan State Hockey Players Recognized for Academic Excellence

The Michigan State hockey season may have concluded, but the academic year recently wrapped up, bringing with it a fresh wave of accolades for student-athletes. The College Sports Communicators have revealed their Academic All-District selections, and three Spartans have distinguished themselves among their peers.

Senior Matt Basgall received this honor for the third consecutive time, showcasing his consistent dedication to both academics and athletics. Meanwhile, juniors Trey Augustine and Tommi Mannisto have also been recognized, each earning this accolade for the second time in their respective college careers.

Basgall and Augustine will now move on to the ballot for Academic All-America honors, where they aim to repeat their previous successes. The Michigan State Hockey program took to social media to congratulate the trio, stating, “Congratulations to our three @CollSportsComm Academic All-District selections - Trey Augustine, Matt Basgall, and Tommi Mannisto!”
