Thunder's Jalen Williams Remains Out for Game 7 Despite Successful Return in Game 6

Mark Daigneault provided an update on Jalen Williams ahead of the critical Game 7 matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. After sitting out Games 3 to 5 because of a left hamstring strain, Williams made a brief appearance in Game 6 but played just 10 minutes during the Thunder's defeat, which ended in a score of 118-91.

Despite his limited time on the court in Game 6, Daigneault confirmed that Williams did not experience any setbacks from his injury. However, he will not participate in Saturday's decisive game. Should the Thunder advance to the NBA Finals and face the New York Knicks, Williams will continue his rehabilitation in hopes of returning to the lineup.

"He came out of the game about where he went into it," Daigneault explained. "He didn't do a full return to play, obviously. We knew he wouldn't be a full 100 percent. We had to see how he would respond in a game setting." Daigneault praised Williams' competitive spirit, noting his willingness to help the team despite not being at full strength.

The Thunder will need to navigate this crucial playoff game without both Williams and Ajay Mitchell, who is sidelined for the fourth consecutive game due to a right soleus strain. The stakes are high as Oklahoma City aims to progress in the playoffs.
