Utah State's Drake Allen Participates in Predraft Workout with OKC Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder are swiftly shifting their focus to the upcoming NBA draft after a disappointing defeat in a Game 7 against the San Antonio Spurs. With the draft just around the corner, teams are busily assessing potential new talent to bolster their rosters.
The Thunder, who are aiming for a championship while simultaneously preparing for the draft, hold three picks in the 2026 NBA Draft: the 12th pick from the LA Clippers, the 17th from the Philadelphia 76ers, and the 37th from the Dallas Mavericks. Among the prospects they are considering is Drake Allen from Utah State, as confirmed by his agency, Elevate Alliance.
Allen, a 24-year-old guard standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds, played four seasons in college basketball, starting at Southern Utah, moving to Utah Valley, and concluding his career at Utah State. In his final season, he averaged 7.9 points, 4.7 assists, and three rebounds over 35 games, shooting 46.6% overall and 32.5% from beyond the arc.
Despite his skills, many NBA mock drafts suggest that Allen may go undrafted, potentially opening the door for the Thunder to sign him to a Summer League contract. The 2026 NBA Draft is set for June 23-24, and the Thunder are eager to enhance their young talent pool to maintain their competitive edge alongside stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams.
The Thunder’s draft workout tracker provides a comprehensive look at the players they are evaluating as they prepare for the upcoming selection process.
