Vote for the Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of Week for May 18-24

With 44% of the total vote share, Arlington softball's Ember Fallon won the Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of the Week poll for May 11-17.

The Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of the Week for May 18-24 is now live.

Nominations are based on information gathered and received by the Poughkeepsie Journal throughout the week. For consideration, coaches are asked to submit game information and player stats to Edecker@usatodayco.com before the end of the week.

Each week's winner will be selected and posted in the upcoming week's poll. Polls will close at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night before the announcement the following morning.

Emily Nevermann, Pawling girls lacrosse

Nevermann finished with nine goals and an assist in Pawling's 14-12 first round playoff victory over Putnam Valley on May. 23.

Taryn Satkowski, Lourdes girls lacrosse

Satkowski tallied four goals in Lourdes 10-6 victory over Saugerties.

Delainey Reid, Highland softball

Reid finished with three doubles and four RBIs in Highland's 16-12 victory over Red Hook.

Taylor Castellani, Marlboro softball

Castellani went 4-for-4 with 6 runs scored, 2 RBIs and three walks drawn over two games.

Livi Lathrop, New Paltz track & field

Lathrop placed first in the high jump (5-0,) the long jump (16-11) and the triple jump (34-10) at the MHAL Championships at Rondout Valley High School.

Chase Harris, Arlington flag football

Harris finished with 160 passing yards and a passing score to go along with two rushing touchdowns in Arlington's 20-0 victory over Wappingers.
