Winners Announced at 2025-26 OKC Metro High School Sports Awards

The 2025-26 OKC Metro High School Sports Awards, organized by Landmark Fine Homes, took place on Thursday at the Young Family Athletic Center, celebrating the achievements of over 300 student-athletes from the Oklahoma City region. The event recognized the Players of the Year in 23 sports, as well as various overall honors including Athlete of the Year for both boys and girls, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, and the Courage Award.

Delijah Matthews from Carl Albert High School earned the title of Boys Athlete of the Year, leading his team to a record-breaking 20th state championship with an impressive 2,033 rushing yards and 44 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kelby Beller of Washington High School was named Girls Athlete of the Year after contributing to her teams' four state championships in fastpitch, slowpitch, basketball, and track. Beller also made history by serving as a kicker for her football team, coached by her father.

Millwood High School's basketball team received the Boys Team of the Year award, having secured their 19th state championship under Coach Dorrian Williams. The Washington High School softball team was recognized as the Girls Team of the Year, dominating their competition with a remarkable combined record of 69-8 and winning two state titles this year.

Cory Cole from Norman High School was honored as Boys Coach of the Year for guiding his team to their first Class 6A state championship since 1999, while Lacy Darity from Mustang High School received the Girls Coach of the Year award after leading her softball team to a perfect 35-0 season and two state titles. The Courage Award went to the Minco Softball team, who made a triumphant return to the field following a devastating bus accident.

Other notable individual winners included Kyiah Prestridge from Westmoore High School, recognized as Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and Isaiah Wilks from Millwood High School, named Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Both athletes showcased exceptional talent, contributing significantly to their teams' successes this season.
