Aberdeen Roncalli places ninth, Milbank 11th in state Class A boys tennis
RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Christian capped a perfect two-day performance with a third-straight championship in the South Dakota State Class A Boys Tennis tournament.
The 11-team tourney concluded on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Sioux Falls Christian rolled to the team title with 600 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Rapid City Christian with 383. St. Thomas More was third at 358.5, followed by Huron (261.5), Pierre (255.5), Lennox (197.5), Madison (159.5), Vermillion (125.5), Aberdeen Roncalli (124), Spearfish (114) and Milbank (104.5).
Sioux Falls Christian players won all six singles flights and all three doubles flights. The list of championship for the Chargers include:
- Singles First Flight — Mitchell Hofer.
- Singles Second Flight — Elijah Lindgren.
- Singles Third Flight — Rex Lefever.
- Singles Fourth Flight — Logan Boyle.
- Singles Fifth Flight — Jack Squier.
- Singles Sixth Flight — Jacob Woodward.
- Doubles First Flight — Hofer and Squier.
- Doubles Second Flight — Lefever and Boyle.
- Doubles Third Flight — Lindgren and Woodward.
Aberdeen Roncalli finished ninth in the tourney with Linus Johnson placing fifth (third flight) and Ezra Feickert (first flight) and Liam Voehl (second flight) each winning consolation championships in singles. Feickert-Johnson (first flight) and Voehl-Caleb Stoks (second flight) each were sixth in doubles.
A fourth-place finish from Will Muellenbach in the first flight of singles led the way for Milbank, which finished 11th. Alex Baugh took sixth in the second flight of singles and Nolan Grabow won the consolation championship in the fifth flight of singles. Franklin Pederson and Jack TerDenge teamed to win the consolation title in the third flight of doubles.

Milbank Singles
- Will Muellenbach (First Flight) — Lost 10-8 to Mitchell Hofer, SF Christian; lost 10-4 to Eli Blank, Lennox. Fourth place.
- Alex Baugh (Second Flight) — Won 10-6 over Ethan Sims, Madison; lost 10-5 to Lay Gay Soe, Huron. Sixth place.
- Nolan Grabow (Fifth Flight) — Won 10-8 over Elijah Overby, Spearfish. Consolation champion.
- Jack TerDenge (Sixth Flight) — Lost 10-5 to Tugger Sandgren, Spearfish in consolation championship.
Milbank Doubles
- Devon Mueller-Grabow (Second Flight) — Lost 10-3 to Mason Freeling-Jason Yoon, Vermillion in consolation championship.
- Franklin Pederson-TerDenge (Third Flight) — Won 10-3 over Elijah Overby-Tugger Sandren, Spearfish. Consolation champions.
Aberdeen Roncalli Singles
- Ezra Feickert (First Flight) — Won 8-7 (4) over Enoch Bailey, Spearfish. Consolation champion.
- Liam Voehl (Second Flight) — Won 10-6 over Wyatt Holland, Lennox. Consolation champion.
- Linus Johnson (Third Flight) — Won 10-8 over Klee Htoo, Huron; won 10-3 Mason Freeling, Vermillion. Fifth place.
- Caleb Stoks (Fourth Flight) — Lost 10-5 to Micah Schmidt, RC Christian in fifth-place semifinals.
Aberdeen Roncalli Doubles
- Feickert-Johnson (First Flight) — Won 8-6 over Lucas Hight-Noah Lueking, Pierre; lost 10-7 to Wyatt Holland-Eli Plank, Lennox. Sixth place.
- Voehl-Stoks (Second Flight) — Won 8-1 over Jonah Gatz-Brooks Meyer, Spearfish; lost 10-6 to Ywa Hae K Moo-Lay Gay Soe, Huron. Sixth place.
