Alabama Baseball Awaits Championship Opponent in NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional

The next rival for Alabama baseball in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional championship will be determined on game day. The Crimson Tide, seeded seventh overall, secured their spot in the regional final with a 7-5 victory over USC Upstate, the third seed. However, the Spartans remain in contention thanks to the double-elimination nature of the tournament.

A double-header is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The winner of the first matchup will face Alabama, which boasts a season record of 39-19, later that evening with a regional title on the line.

USC Upstate is set to compete against the second-seeded Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. CT. The Cowboys, who previously fell to the Spartans 8-5 in their tournament opener, managed to stay alive with an 8-7 victory over the fourth-seeded Alabama State after 11 thrilling innings.

Should Alabama clinch victory on Sunday, it would mark the program's first regional championship since 2023 and secure a spot in the Tuscaloosa Super Regional.
