Arizona Cardinals Anticipate Presence at Brendan Sorsby’s Pro Day

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly showing interest in quarterback Brendan Sorsby from Texas Tech, who is set to enter the NFL supplemental draft next month. Sorsby’s pro day is tentatively planned for July 10, and according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, the Cardinals are expected to be present at the event.

“It will be like almost any other pro day. I expect the Cardinals to be represented,” Gambadoro stated. He also mentioned that the team has conducted extensive research on Sorsby, particularly because he was a potential candidate for this year’s NFL Draft. Given the uncertainty surrounding their quarterback situation, the Cardinals are likely to explore their options in that position further.

Sorsby’s journey has been tumultuous; he played two seasons at Indiana and another two at Cincinnati before transferring to Texas Tech, a program aiming for the national title in 2026. However, his admission of a gambling issue, which involved placing significant bets, including on college sports and his own team, led to his ineligibility for the upcoming season. After entering rehab for his gambling addiction, he initially sought to regain his eligibility through legal action but has since chosen to withdraw his suit, refocusing on his NFL aspirations.

With a strong performance in 2026, Sorsby could have been a top pick in the draft, but now he might be available to teams like the Cardinals at a lower selection. The organization is expected to be active in the upcoming draft, especially in their search for a potential franchise quarterback.
