Arizona Softball Roster Changes Loom Ahead of Offseason

As the Arizona Wildcats prepare for the upcoming offseason, significant roster management decisions are on the horizon following the conclusion of the 2026 season. Head coach Caitlin Lowe and her staff are closely monitoring player movements, particularly as the NCAA softball transfer portal is set to open for undergraduate players on June 8.

Despite the NCAA's efforts to delay transfer announcements until after the Women’s College World Series, many players are already expressing their intentions to enter the portal as their seasons wrap up. It’s important to note that graduate students remain eligible to enter the portal at any time, and undergraduates facing coaching changes at their schools can also do so outside the standard window. However, for the current Arizona roster, these exceptions do not apply, meaning any players listed as entering the portal prior to June 8 are simply signaling their intent to leave once the portal officially opens.

The NCAA imposes a roster cap of 25 players for softball, but Arizona has typically maintained a smaller squad size. Last season, the team began with 20 players and concluded with 19. Notably, injured pinch runner Shyanne Duke was added shortly before the season commenced but departed midway through, having made only four appearances.

As of now, several players have remaining eligibility, including junior Sereniti Trice and sophomore Rylie Holder, among others. The Wildcats are also expecting new talent, with incoming freshmen like Lilly Hauser and Natalie Keith ready to join the roster. Meanwhile, the team has seen some losses, including junior Emma Kavanagh and Jenna Sniffen, both of whom have announced their intentions to transfer.
