Auburn Tigers Secure Commitment from Four-Star Linebacker Isaac McNeil

The recruitment season is gaining momentum for the Auburn Tigers, with exciting developments announced on Tuesday evening. Isaac McNeil, a four-star linebacker from Vigor in Mobile, Alabama, declared his commitment to Auburn during a live segment on the Rivals YouTube channel. This marks a significant victory for the Tigers as they outperformed both Florida and Georgia to secure the services of the nation's No. 103 overall recruit, who is also ranked as the seventh-best linebacker and the third-best player in Alabama, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.

“They made it clear I’m a really high priority for them,” McNeil expressed to Rivals’ Chad Simmons. He praised the atmosphere at Auburn, stating, “Every visit was great. Auburn has a great environment, great energy, and it is really just a great place. I just had to make that decision and pick the best school for me. It’s Auburn.”

McNeil's commitment adds to Auburn’s recent successes on the recruiting front, as he became the second high-profile pledge in just two days. The day before, Kingston Miles, a four-star running back from Saint Louis St. Mary’s, also committed to the Tigers, making him the 16th-best running back nationally. Additionally, three-star cornerback Aidyn Wiggins from Duncan, South Carolina, joined the ranks earlier on Tuesday.

These recent commitments have propelled Auburn to the No. 14 spot in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, a significant jump from its previous position at No. 22. Currently, half of Auburn's 14 commitments for the 2027 class are four-star recruits, highlighting a strong recruiting effort by head coach Alex Golesh and his staff.

Among the standout recruits is Myson Johnson-Cook, a four-star running back from East St. Louis, Illinois. He ranks as the 50th overall prospect and the fourth-best running back in the country. Layton von Brandt, a four-star offensive tackle from Middletown, Delaware, also committed in May and emphasized Auburn's commitment to him as a top priority. “There is something to be said for a staff believing in you like that. It made me want to play for them and prove them right,” he noted.

McNeil joins another four-star linebacker, Kareem Palmer, who committed to Auburn in May, further solidifying the team's defensive lineup. Other notable recruits in this class include four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and tight end George Lamons, as well as three-star wide receiver Brylan Oduor and cornerback Nash Johnson.
