Baker Mayfield Urges Buccaneers to Finalize Contract Talks Before Training Camp

Baker Mayfield has strongly expressed his desire for a resolution regarding his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of the upcoming training camp. In his first public comments of the offseason, the seasoned quarterback admitted that negotiations haven't advanced as he had anticipated. "It's not anywhere close to what we were thinking," Mayfield stated, emphasizing the urgency by declaring, "It's time to get something done long-term." Mayfield is in the final year of a three-year, $100 million contract he signed with Tampa Bay back in 2024, which has an average annual value of $33.3 million.
