Barry Larkin Commends Reds' Rising Star Steele Hall

Steele Hall, an 18-year-old shortstop and the second-ranked prospect in the Cincinnati Reds organization according to MLB Pipeline, is showcasing his talent in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, recently hitting home runs in consecutive games. Hall, who was selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, has caught the attention of fans and analysts alike.

During a broadcast of the Reds' game against the New York Mets on June 16 at Great American Ball Park, Reds.TV's John Sadak and former player Barry Larkin discussed Hall's impressive performance. Larkin praised Hall's abilities, stating, "Great hands. Super, super fast feet." He noted that while Hall may not be known for his power, he is currently "swinging the bat well right now."

Sadak inquired whether Hall would remain at shortstop, to which Larkin responded, "It is quite early." He explained that while he has seen projections for Hall at both shortstop and second base, he appreciates Hall's skill set for both positions. "He has some great movement, great flow, great feel for what he's doing," Larkin added, underscoring the potential he sees in Hall.

According to a recent post by Baseball America on Twitter/X, Hall has made a strong impression this season with six home runs and a 126 wRC+, indicating his offensive prowess. RoboScout has expressed optimism about Hall's future, suggesting he could hit 20-25 home runs at the major league level.

As a top prospect for the Reds, Steele Hall's development will be closely monitored as he progresses in the minor leagues.
