Bemidji Post 14 Dominates Brainerd with 26 Runs Over Two Games
BRAINERD — The Bemidji American Legion baseball team showcased an explosive performance on Tuesday, overwhelming Brainerd with a total of 26 runs across two games. The Centaurs secured decisive victories, winning the first game 14-0 and the second one 12-2.
In the opening matchup, Jack Zelmann and James Garrison each stood out with two hits. Zelmann finished the game with a 2-for-3 batting line, including a double and three RBIs. Gunner Ganske also contributed significantly, going 1-for-1 with a double and two walks. Kobe Brown took the mound for Post 14, delivering a stellar five-inning performance where he allowed only three hits and three walks while striking out six batters.
The second game saw the Centaurs collect 10 hits, with Kash Rasmus, Zelmann, and Berg each going 2-for-4 at the plate. Both Zelmann and Berg recorded doubles, combining for an impressive seven RBIs. Brennen Brower, Heaton Brodina, and Garrison also hit doubles, while Ganske added a triple to his performance. Notably, Berg hit a home run in the fifth inning. On the pitching side, Berg allowed just one earned run and seven hits, along with three walks and three strikeouts over five innings.
