Braves Edge Blue Jays 4-3 Thanks to Strong Pitching and Late Heroics

Despite a pitching matchup that seemed to favor the Blue Jays, the Braves kicked off the game with a strong offensive display. Ronald Acuña set the tone, scoring on a double from Michael Harris, who later added another run through a groundout and a sacrifice fly, giving Atlanta an early 2-0 advantage.

However, the Blue Jays quickly responded, leveling the score with a two-run homer in the second inning. Atlanta’s offense managed to generate some opportunities, including a double by Yaztrzemski, but they couldn't capitalize in the second. Bryce Elder, showing his prowess, pitched effectively and helped the Braves regain the lead with a two-out double from Matt Olson followed by an RBI single from Ozzie Albies, making it 3-2.

The back-and-forth continued as Toronto tied the game again with a single, double, and a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Just when momentum seemed to sway, Matt Olson hit a towering home run that soared into the Chop House, putting the Braves back in front at 4-3.

Elder pitched into the seventh inning before being replaced by Robert Suarez, who secured two key outs. Suarez continued to shine, striking out the final batter of the eighth. Although Raisel Iglesias faced some challenges in the ninth by allowing two singles, he managed to secure the final outs, marking his 29th consecutive save. With this victory, the Braves improved to 41-20 on the season, setting the stage for a potential series win at home with their ace Chris Sale scheduled to pitch on Thursday.
