Brighton Pushes Forward with £45 Million Bid for Tottenham Starlet Luka Vuskovic

Brighton & Hove Albion has made strides in the current transfer window, recently securing a significant transfer fee of £52 million from Tottenham for defender Jan Paul van Hecke. This transaction has proven lucrative for the Seagulls, who originally acquired van Hecke from NAC Breda for just €6.5 million during the 2020/21 season. One of Brighton's prime targets is Croatian talent Luka Vuskovic, who has been on the club's radar for quite some time. Following their initial bid of £30 million, which was turned down by Tottenham, Brighton has returned to the negotiation table with an improved offer. According to reports, the new proposal amounts to £45 million, comprised of £42 million upfront with an additional £3 million in performance-related add-ons.

Fabrizio Romano provided updates on the situation, indicating that despite the initial rejection, Brighton's renewed interest in Vuskovic remains strong. The increased offer reflects the Seagulls' determination to secure the young prospect, who is reportedly eager for more consistent playing time after feeling sidelined at Tottenham.

Vuskovic's desire for more regular appearances comes after a solid season with Hamburg in the Bundesliga, where he contributed significantly to the team's mid-table finish with impressive statistics, including 44 interceptions and 18 tackles in 30 matches. Additionally, Vuskovic's involvement in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he made his debut against England, has heightened interest in his future.
