Brody Pfannenstiel Switches Commitment to Wisconsin, Strengthening 2027 Class
MADISON – After initially committing to Texas Tech in March, edge rusher Brody Pfannenstiel has decided to change course and join the University of Wisconsin. The talented high school player from Hoisington, Kansas, made the announcement on June 16, marking him as the 23rd recruit in UW's Class of 2027.
Wisconsin's coaching staff has been relentless in their pursuit of Pfannenstiel, successfully convincing him to reconsider his commitment after he visited the campus from June 5-7. His decision followed a recent official visit to Texas Tech, and he confirmed the news through Rivals, stating: “100% Committed. 🦡🔴 #OnWisconsin.”
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 225 pounds, Pfannenstiel is regarded as a three-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN, where he is ranked as the fourth-best recruit in Kansas. During his recruitment process, he garnered interest from numerous schools, including Vanderbilt, Mississippi, and Missouri, alongside offers from Kansas, Illinois, and others.
As part of Wisconsin's defensive lineup, Pfannenstiel will join other recruits like Isaac Miller (6-5, 250) and Darin Graham (6-5, 225), as the Badgers aim to create a diverse defensive front that can adapt to various offensive strategies. The recent addition of Pfannenstiel bolsters Wisconsin's recruiting efforts, which currently rank 18th overall and seventh in the Big Ten according to 247Sports.
This flip is part of a broader trend for Wisconsin, which has successfully attracted three recruits in just the last three weeks.
