Chiefs Draft 2026 Poll: Majority of votes say Brett Veach sticks at 40
The second round of the 2026 NFL Draft will be underway in less than an hour, kicking off Day 2 with the Kansas City Chiefs near the start with the 40th-overall selection.
It is the lone pick the Chiefs have scheduled for Friday.
After a couple of hours of voting, with more polling to come, the majority of fans who voted believe general manager Brett Veach will keep Kansas City at pick No. 40, leaving the early second-round pick as the only selection the Chiefs will make on Friday night.
The polled followers on X were in lockstep with the voters on The Feed.
Nearly 60% of the voters believe the franchise will take the do-nothing approach, roughly 38% of those polled were even more conservative in their predictions, with the belief that Veach will trade down in the second round, accumulating picks to make up for the capital lost in trading up to draft Mansoor Delane in the first round, like the team’s original pick in the third round: No. 74.
With pick No. 109 early in the fourth round, a deal would only make sense if Veach received a third-round selection.
Trading up was not considered by nearly all voters.
