Cubs Secure 6-1 Victory Over Giants as Crow-Armstrong Homer Starts Off Strong

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — In an impressive display, Pete Crow-Armstrong launched a home run on the very first pitch of the game, leading the Chicago Cubs to a 6-1 triumph against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday evening.

Crow-Armstrong took aim at Trevor McDonald (2-4), driving his 12th homer of the season deep to center field. The young star also contributed with a double and a single in his five at-bats during the match.

Cubs pitcher Ben Brown (3-2) delivered a solid performance, giving up just one run on seven hits over five innings. Later in the game, Ian Happ and Pedro Ramírez each added solo home runs in the fifth inning, extending the Cubs' lead to 6-1.

During the contest, Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki exited the game in the fourth inning due to discomfort in his right knee while attempting to catch a fly ball.

Looking ahead, Cubs right-handed pitcher Colin Rea (5-2, 5.19 ERA) is scheduled to face Giants right-hander Logan Webb (3-4, 3.88) in the series finale on Sunday.
