Dani Olmo Set for Contract Renewal at Barcelona This Summer

Dani Olmo's position at FC Barcelona is secure as the club prepares to extend his contract in recognition of his dedication and loyalty. The new agreement, which has already been finalized, will take effect this summer as the midfielder enters his third season at the Camp Nou.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the decision to enhance Olmo's contract is a direct result of the sacrifices he made upon joining the team in the summer of 2024. At that time, he opted to turn down more lucrative deals from clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga, accepting a lower salary to assist Barcelona in managing their Financial Fair Play requirements. His commitment to the club was further demonstrated during a registration crisis in January 2025, when he rejected offers from other teams that sought to sign him for free with substantial bonuses, choosing instead to trust the assurances of club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.

Now, that loyalty is being acknowledged. The updated contract will align Olmo's salary with his importance to the squad and make up for the two seasons in which he was compensated below his market value.

In his second season with the team, Olmo has flourished, meeting the expectations set by coach Julian Nagelsmann. He has participated in 46 official matches, netting eight goals and assisting on nine occasions, while appearing in 85% of the team’s games throughout the 2025-26 season. Despite interest from major clubs, including a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia and links to Arsenal, Olmo remains committed to Barcelona, intent on fulfilling his contract through 2030.
