Dayton Flyers to Host Cincinnati Bearcats in November Showdown at UD Arena

The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team is set to host the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, November 14, at UD Arena, as announced on June 2. This matchup will likely serve as Dayton's fourth game of the season, with the team yet to reveal its complete non-conference schedule. The college basketball season can kick off as early as November 2.

This will mark the Bearcats' first visit to Dayton since 2004, and it will be the fourth consecutive season that the two teams face off after a lengthy 13-year hiatus. Their previous encounters occurred at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati.

In their last meeting on December 16, 2023, Dayton triumphed over Cincinnati with a score of 82-68, led by DaRon Holmes II, who scored 28 points. However, the Flyers faced a setback on December 20, 2024, when they lost 66-59, after trailing by as much as 18 points. A valiant comeback effort fell short, highlighted by Malachi Smith's late 3-pointer that narrowed the gap.

In a subsequent matchup on November 11, 2025, Cincinnati maintained an early lead and secured a 74-62 victory, with Dayton struggling from beyond the arc, shooting only 7.7%. Historically, Cincinnati leads the series with a record of 62-32, including a dominant 44-11 since the 1957-58 season.

Dayton's non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season will also feature games against Florida State, Liberty, and two contests at the Charleston Classic, though specific dates for these matchups have yet to be announced. Additionally, a game against Memphis is scheduled for November 29 at the United Center in Chicago, according to reports.
