Dodgers and Lakers Co-Owner Eyes Potential Seahawks Acquisition
The Seattle Seahawks are officially on the market following the estate of Paul G. Allen initiating the sale process shortly after the team secured victory in Super Bowl LX. It has been reported that the funds generated from this sale will be directed toward charitable causes.
Billionaire Todd Boehly, who holds ownership stakes in both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers, is reportedly contemplating a bid for the Seahawks. According to Semafor, Boehly has engaged in discussions with fellow Dodgers and Lakers co-owner Mark Walter about the possibility of collaborating on this purchase. Additionally, there are indications that Boehly may also seek to partner with investors from the Middle East.
The Seahawks are projected to sell for an unprecedented price of up to $9 billion, which would eclipse the previous NFL record of $6 billion set by the Washington Commanders in 2023. However, it would fall short of the $10 billion that Walter paid for the Lakers in 2025.
Interest in acquiring the reigning Super Bowl champions appears to be lower than previous sales, as noted by ESPN in May. Alongside Boehly, other potential bidders include Aditya Mittal and former Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck, with formal offers anticipated in the coming weeks, as reported by Semafor.
