ECU set to take on North Texas in American quarterfinals

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The third-seeded Pirates, and host of this year’s American Conference Tournament, will square-off against North Texas in the quarterfinals.

ECU had a bye as the 3-seed and will look to All-conference players Kanisha Anderson and Julia Apostolakos to push them past the Mean Green.

Anderson was named first-team all-conference after batting .373 and getting 69 hits, which is second in the conference.

Apostolakos was named second-team after posting a 2.94 ERA and getting 118 strikeouts, both top five in American Conference.

North Texas is coming into the game having walked it off against UTSA 7-6 and are led by Elizabeth Moffitt and Madison Conley, both offensive weapons who for the Mean Green.

Conley is second in the conference in OPS, tied for second in home runs, with 16, and getting walked, with 37,

Moffitt is second in the American in batting average at .401 and fourth in OPS, Both Conley and Moffitt have 44 RBIs on the year.
