Elly De La Cruz Observes Dayton Dragons Game from Dugout Amid Injury Recovery
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz was seen from the dugout on June 11, supporting the Dayton Dragons as they faced off against the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Day Air Ballpark. Currently sidelined due to a hamstring strain, De La Cruz is on the 10-day injured list and has not played since the team's victory over the Atlanta Braves on May 31.
On June 10, De La Cruz participated in infield practice, but a follow-up MRI is scheduled for June 12 to assess his condition further. The young player made a significant impact during his time with the Dragons last season, hitting .302 with 20 home runs and achieving an OPS of .968 across 306 plate appearances.
As the Reds enjoy a day off, they are set to kick off a homestand on June 12 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, looking to build momentum as they navigate the season without De La Cruz's contributions on the field.
