This year's Deseret News Baseball Players of the Year have showcased remarkable skills and leadership, playing crucial roles in their teams' successes throughout the season. These athletes consistently delivered clutch performances, whether at the plate or in the field, demonstrating their all-around excellence.

Kenny Johnson from American Fork has been named the 6A Player of the Year after leading his team to yet another state championship. The senior pitcher and first baseman finished the season with an impressive 8-0 record on the mound, striking out 38 batters and maintaining a stellar 1.35 ERA. Offensively, Johnson boasted a .394 batting average with 19 RBIs and 13 doubles. Head coach Jarod Ingersoll praised Johnson's contributions, stating, “We always knew he was a good pitcher, but Kenny had a great year offensively for us. He is an incredible young man with great leadership qualities.”

In the 5A category, Jeremiah Hall of Maple Mountain has earned the title of Player of the Year. As a versatile shortstop and right-handed pitcher, Hall's remarkable .465 batting average, along with eight home runs and a .763 slugging percentage, significantly impacted his team's journey to the state championship series. Coach Jeremy Thomas commended Hall's multifaceted contributions, saying, “Jeremiah Hall was a huge part of everything we accomplished this season... He earned the respect of his coaches, teammates, and opponents through his work ethic and results on and off the field.”

Trey Vaughn from Snow Canyon has been recognized as the 4A Player of the Year, leading his team to a state title with a commanding .505 batting average, 10 home runs, and 60 RBIs. His exceptional patience at the plate, demonstrated by 13 walks, made him a formidable presence. Coach Reed Secrist highlighted Vaughn's leadership and dedication, noting, “Trey has been one of the easiest players I’ve ever had the opportunity to coach... His commitment to improving was evident as he continued to build on his success each season.”

Finally, Gannon Labrum from Union has claimed the title of 3A Player of the Year. As a senior outfielder and pitcher, Labrum excelled with an on-base percentage of 1.237, scoring 42 runs and stealing 11 bases over the season. His leadership qualities have been recognized by teammates and coaches alike, with Labrum being voted captain for two consecutive seasons. His dedication to the game and his peers has solidified his status as a respected figure on his team.
