As the Las Vegas Raiders gear up for a revamped 2026 season, quarterback Fernando Mendoza is maximizing his time at organized team activities (OTAs) to assist fellow player EJ Williams in securing a spot on the team's roster. This year's team shows significant improvement compared to last season's disappointing performance, and the competition for roster spots is fierce.

During the recent practice session at the Intermountain Health Performance Center in Henderson, Nevada, Mendoza connected with former Indiana wide receiver Williams on a perfectly executed crossing route. This impressive play highlights the chemistry they developed during their time together at Indiana, as noted by Sam Warren of The Athletic.

Williams, known for his exceptional speed and ability to create separation downfield, could significantly enhance his chances of making the roster if he continues to perform well throughout the remaining OTAs, minicamp, and training camp. However, he faces a challenging battle against other talented wide receivers vying for limited spots.

The Raiders' receiving corps appears largely established, with the top four positions seemingly secured. Yet, the competition for the final spots remains intense, especially with the presence of newcomers like Malik Benson, along with returning players Phillip Dorsett and Shedrick Jackson. Given the depth of talent, the Raiders will have to make some difficult decisions, but Williams' potential could see him carve out a place on the final roster.
