Former England Star Highlights Contrast in USMNT Fan Atmosphere Between Seattle and Los Angeles

Former England international Danny Murphy has drawn attention to the stark differences in the atmosphere created by USMNT fans in Seattle compared to those in Los Angeles. The U.S. team kicked off their World Cup journey against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in LA last week, before heading to Seattle’s Lumen Field for their second group-stage match against Australia, which they won 2-0.

Despite a solid victory in Los Angeles, Murphy felt the crowd lacked the energy he was expecting. In contrast, he praised the Seattle supporters for their overwhelming enthusiasm during the match against Australia. "There’s more excitement. There’s more energy. There’s a belief that they can go far. They’re just so excited," Murphy commented on the atmosphere in Seattle.

He noted that the spirited support was a significant improvement from the opening match in LA, crediting the team's performance for igniting such passion among the fans. "It’s a far cry from what I anticipated. The team deserve credit because they’re the ones who have created it in many ways with their performance on the pitch," he stated.
