Fox Valley Lutheran Advances to State Championship with Dominant Win

MADISON – In a standout performance, Madison Babcock of Fox Valley Lutheran has made a name for herself, leading her team to an impressive 8-0 triumph over Turner in the WIAA Division 2 state semifinal held on June 12 at Goodman Diamond. With this victory, Fox Valley Lutheran (FVL) boasts a season record of 25-3 and is now set to face Pewaukee (21-9) in the state title game scheduled for 4 p.m. on June 13.

Babcock showcased her exceptional skills on the mound, striking out nine hitters while allowing only two hits throughout the complete game. At the plate, she contributed significantly with a 2-for-4 performance, driving in three runs which included a pivotal two-run double in the fourth inning that opened up the game.

FVL's offense was relentless, amassing a total of 15 hits during the match. Tenley Wolfrath and Lexi Hanson each had a standout day with three hits apiece. On the losing side, Olyvia Piranio took the mound for Turner (25-4).

This upcoming championship match marks a significant milestone for the team and highlights their journey in the state tournament, where Pewaukee, the fourth seed, pulled off an upset against top-seeded Medford with a narrow 1-0 win in the other semifinal.
