Future Hall of Famer coming back, will face Patriots in Week 2

The Patriots will get one more matchup with Aaron Rodgers.

This time, it didn’t take a week in a dark cave or a dance with psychedelics for the future Hall of Famer to make a decision.

Rodgers, who’ll turn 43 during the 2026 season, signed a one-year deal to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, his salary will be between $22-23 million and he could reach $25 million with incentives.

Barring an injury in Week 1, which has happened before, he’ll come to Gillette Stadium to face the Patriots in Week 2.

Rodgers is 4-3 in his career against the Patriots in games with the Packers, Jets and Steelers. Pittsburgh, behind two TDs from Rodgers, beat New England last year before the Patriots found their stride.

New England quarterback Drake Maye grew up idolizing Rodgers. This will be their third time facing each other as starters.

Rodgers is currently fifth on the NFL career passing list with 66,274 passing yards and fourth in all-time touchdown passes with 527. Tom Brady is the career leader in both categories (89,214 yards, 627 TD passes). Rodgers could catch Peyton Manning, who is currently third with 539.
