Georgia Baseball to Compete in NCAA Athens Regional Final Sunday
The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team is gearing up for the NCAA Athens Regional final, set to take place on Sunday. Their opponent will be determined following a matchup between Boston College and Liberty, who will face off for the second time this weekend in an elimination game.
With an impressive record of 48-12, Georgia is just one victory away from earning a coveted spot in the Super Regionals. The Bulldogs previously demonstrated their prowess by defeating Long Island 18-2 and Liberty 6-2, securing their place in the regional final. If either Boston College or Liberty wishes to advance, they will need to defeat Georgia to force a deciding game on Monday.
Right-handed pitcher Caden Aoki is expected to take the mound for Georgia, although head coach Wes Johnson has indicated that the final decision will be made once the team's opponent is confirmed.
Fans can catch the game on ESPN+, with coverage featuring announcers Dave Neal and Gordon Beckham. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Foley Field.
The NCAA Regionals run from May 29 to June 1, with the Super Regionals set for June 5-8, followed by the College World Series from June 12-22.
