Georgia Bulldogs Poised for Recruit Flip, Spelling Trouble for Florida Gators
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are on the verge of receiving promising news that could also spell difficulties for their primary SEC competitor, the Florida Gators. This development is particularly satisfying for fans of UGA.
Chad Simmons from On3 has indicated that Georgia may soon welcome a key addition to their roster. He forecasts that four-star offensive lineman Kennedee Jackson, a 2027 recruit standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 300 pounds from Lithonia, Georgia, will shift his commitment from Florida to Georgia. Jackson is currently rated as the 16th-best offensive tackle in the country and the ninth-best player in Georgia, according to 247Sports.
Jackson has only been committed to Florida since June 2, making his allegiance relatively new. Simmons stated, “I'll call my shot on a flip…I believe the Bulldogs have put themselves in position to ultimately change the outcome.” He noted that Jackson is still in contact with both schools, but the current trend seems to favor Georgia.
Given that Jackson is a local talent, the decision may be straightforward for him. He has the option to either play under a less-established coach in Jon Sumrall or stay close to home and compete for a national champion in Kirby Smart. It’s a choice that many would find hard to resist.
