Gonzaga's Season Opener Against Purdue Set for November

Gonzaga University has announced the tipoff time for its highly anticipated 2026-27 season opener against Purdue University. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. on November 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as detailed in a recent press release from the Hall of Fame Series.

In addition to the Gonzaga-Purdue clash, fans can also purchase tickets for a series of college basketball games included in the Hall of Fame event. This lineup features both men's and women's matchups, with the first session showcasing women's teams: Stanford versus Arizona at 10:30 a.m., followed by UNLV against USC at 1 p.m. The Gonzaga-Purdue game will launch the second session, which will be capped off by a contest between UCLA and Arizona at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Boilermakers have faced each other three times since 2022, with Purdue claiming victory in each encounter. Their previous matchups include an 84-66 win for the Boilermakers at the 2022 Phil Knight Legacy tournament, a 73-63 victory at the 2023 Maui Invitational, and an 80-68 triumph in the Sweet 16 of the 2024 NCAA tournament held in Detroit.

This season, Gonzaga is expected to be a strong contender with two returning starters and three key rotation players. Among the returning athletes are Braden Huff, Davis Fogle, and Mario Saint-Supery, who will be joined by transfers Massamba Diop from Arizona State and Isiah Harwell from Houston, along with freshmen Luca Foster and Sam Funches.

On the other hand, Purdue will face the challenge of rebuilding, having lost four of its five starters from the previous season's Elite Eight team. Notable departures include NCAA all-time assists leader Braeden Smith and standout shooter Fletcher Loyer. However, the Boilermakers will retain sophomore guard C.J. Cox and welcome transfer Caden Pierce from Princeton, who has a history with Gonzaga recruit Braden Huff.
