Gujarat Titans Face Potential Crisis as Team Bus Experiences Short Circuit

A tense situation unfolded for the Gujarat Titans (GT) following their defeat in the IPL final when their team bus encountered a short circuit while returning from the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night. This incident left players stranded on the roadside for nearly an hour, but fortunately, all team members and support staff were promptly evacuated and are safe.

The evening had already been challenging for the Titans, who faced a five-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earlier in the match. This latest scare added to an exhausting series of events leading up to the final, as the team had arrived in Ahmedabad later than scheduled due to adverse weather conditions across northwestern India, resulting in a three-hour delay for their chartered flight.

The recent weather disruptions also impacted other arrangements, including a planned photoshoot with team captains Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar. Within just five days, the Titans moved through a grueling schedule, having lost to RCB in Qualifier 1 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 26 and then traveling to Chandigarh for their subsequent match against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2.

Despite the setback in the final, captain Shubman Gill reflected positively on the team’s performance. “We couldn’t get over the line, but there are always things that you could improve on. And even if we had won the trophy, there were still things that we felt as a group that we needed to work on,” he stated during the post-match presentation.
