Highlights from the 2026 Northwest Showcase at Western Oregon University

The Northwest Showcase made its return to Western Oregon University, part of the ongoing Mega Camp series in the Pacific Northwest. Coaches from various institutions were present, including Oregon State's head coach Jamarcus Shephard and Western Oregon's own head coach Arne Ferguson, along with representatives from several other schools.

Coaches and staff members at the Northwest Showcase identified standout performers across multiple sessions. In the first session, focused on running backs, linebackers, offensive and defensive linemen, the Overall MVP was JayLinn Haywood, a 2027 offensive lineman from Burien, Washington's Kennedy Catholic. Other notable MVPs included Kalama Roberson (running back, 2028, Walla Walla, Washington), Iyan Boskett (defensive lineman, 2027, Pahrump, Nevada), and Jerrek Buckley (linebacker, 2027, Rohnert Park, California).

The second session yielded another set of top talents, with James Curoso, a running back from Clovis, California, earning the Overall MVP title. Other winners included Cole Hachmeister (running back, Tualatin, Oregon), Peter Stanley (offensive lineman, 2028, Bend, Oregon), and Isaiah Ormond (defensive lineman, 2027, Tualatin, Oregon).

In the third session, which highlighted quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive backs, Alonzo Ward, a wide receiver from Stockton, California, took home the Overall MVP award. Other MVPs included Nick Johnson (quarterback, 2027, El Dorado Hills, California), Riley McElvane (wide receiver, 2027, San Jose, California), and Kaden Johnson (defensive back, 2028, Bellevue, Washington).

The showcase concluded with a fifth session focused on kickers, punters, and long snappers. Grady Sharp from Washougal, Washington, was recognized as the Long Snapper MVP, while Eli Gifford (kicker, 2028, Portland, Oregon) and CJ Jones (punter, 2027, Eugene, Oregon) also earned accolades. This event serves as an important platform for young athletes to showcase their skills to college coaches.
