Isa Torres Returns to Texas for Final Season with Longhorns

Isa Torres is making a significant move in her collegiate softball career. After entering the transfer portal last week, the former All-American shortstop from Florida State announced on social media Tuesday that she will be joining the Texas Longhorns for her senior year, marking a return to her roots in Georgetown, Texas.

Having just completed a remarkable junior season, Torres aims to contribute to Texas' quest for a third consecutive title at the Women’s College World Series. “Full circle in the best way,” she expressed in her announcement, accompanied by the Longhorns' signature horns down emoji.

Torres leaves behind an impressive legacy at Florida State, where she set multiple records during her time. During the 2026 season, she achieved a staggering .530 batting average, placing her among the top 15 in NCAA history. Her season also included 16 home runs, 56 RBIs, and an astonishing 78 runs scored, along with an NCAA record for hits in 16 consecutive at-bats without making an out.

Defensively, she was equally remarkable, finishing the regular season without committing a single error and achieving a .989 fielding percentage. This excellence earned her the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award and the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

Over her three years at Florida State, Torres amassed a career batting average of .439, with 261 hits, 49 doubles, nine triples, 34 home runs, 158 RBIs, and 186 runs scored. Now, she is set to close her college chapter with the Longhorns, a team she has long supported.
