LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 06: In a striking display, Iwo Baraniewski of Poland faced off against Australia’s Junior Tafa during a light heavyweight matchup at the UFC Fight Night event at Meta APEX on June 06, 2026. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) Baraniewski, who has quickly made a name for himself in the UFC, continued his impressive streak by finishing Tafa in just 85 seconds, showcasing his formidable striking skills.
The 27-year-old fighter, who secured his UFC contract with a stunning 20-second knockout on Contender Series last year, has maintained his momentum by achieving three first-round finishes in the UFC, with a total fight time of only 1:57 minutes. His latest victory against Tafa added another highlight to his undefeated record.
While Tafa, known for his striking power, was expected to provide a challenge, Baraniewski quickly took control. After an initial period of gauging distance, Baraniewski unleashed a calf kick that visibly affected Tafa. A second calf kick sent Tafa sprawling to the mat, where Baraniewski capitalized by unleashing a flurry of punches, prompting the referee to stop the fight as Tafa covered up defensively.
Following his victory, Baraniewski, now boasting a record of 9-0, humorously remarked, “I don’t know what a second round even is,” before expressing his desire to face a top 15 opponent in his next bout. With all his professional wins coming in the first round, the Polish fighter is clearly making a strong statement in the light heavyweight division.
