Jalen Coker Aims for Long-Term Future with Panthers Following Contract Extension

Jalen Coker, who joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, has recently secured a three-year contract extension with the Carolina Panthers, ensuring his presence with the team until 2029. The 24-year-old wide receiver has demonstrated impressive performance over his first two seasons, prompting the Panthers to reward him with the extension.

Reflecting on this new chapter, Coker expressed his excitement about remaining in Charlotte. "It was a huge opportunity for me," he stated on Tuesday, as reported by Kassidy Hill from the team's official website. "Your dream is to always go get to the NFL, of course, but to stay around and to continue to contribute and to make an impact every Sunday, that's always been my goal." He added, "This wasn't the end of my story. This isn't where I want to be finished at. I just want to continue to build, continue to do good things for this organization down the line. Hopefully, I can stay for eight more years."

In his time with the Panthers, Coker has recorded 65 receptions totaling 872 yards and five touchdowns across 22 games. Coach Dave Canales has highlighted both Coker and Tetairoa McMillan as key wide receivers, while acknowledging a strong depth at the position that includes players like Xavier Legette and John Metchie.

With a competitive roster, Coker emphasized the team's potential for growth, stating, "I think we've got so many guys that can play on this team, and it's just going to continue to push us to be better every single day."
