Karnataka Leaders Celebrate RCB's Historic IPL Victory
Karnataka's Chief Minister-elect, DK Shivakumar, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) following their triumphant win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final against Gujarat, marking their second consecutive championship. Speaking to the media, Shivakumar expressed pride on behalf of RCB fans across the state, commending the team's ability to sustain their winning streak from the previous season.
In a celebratory message shared on X, he remarked, "RCB has created history by clinching a second consecutive IPL title. With grit, composure, and the heart of true champions, the team has once again made Bengaluru proud." He emphasized the significance of the victory, stating, "Tonight, Bengaluru rises again as champions!" and confidently declared, "This year too, the cup belongs to us." Shivakumar acknowledged the collective effort behind the win, praising the players, coaches, and the loyal fanbase.
While celebrating the team's success, Shivakumar voiced his disappointment that the final match was not hosted in Bengaluru. He stated, "The IPL final match should have happened in Bengaluru. Injustice has been done to us. Due to politics, they held it at a different venue. I won't speak much on it," as reported by PTI.
The outgoing Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, also congratulated RCB for their impressive performance throughout the season. He noted that the team's dynamic and fearless style of play left their opponents struggling to respond. "This victory, earned through a united team effort, has created a festive atmosphere in the homes of RCB fans everywhere," Siddaramaiah said, urging supporters to adhere to police guidelines during the celebrations. "The State Police Department has issued certain guidelines regarding the celebrations of RCB's victory. These are for your safety and well-being, so please make sure to follow them," he added.
