Keenan Allen: A Key Addition for Ravens' AFC Ambitions in 2026
The Baltimore Ravens, now navigating a new coaching staff for the first time in nearly two decades, are determined not to let 2026 be a rebuilding year. With a roster brimming with talent, the team remains a strong contender in the league. However, to enhance their offense, they may need to consider adding a seasoned wide receiver to support quarterback Lamar Jackson.
While Zay Flowers has shown promise, the Ravens could benefit from a more dependable veteran presence to complement their receiving corps, which currently includes Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker. A potential solution lies with Keenan Allen, who, despite being 34 years old, continues to demonstrate impressive productivity.
In the 2025 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, Allen recorded 81 receptions, accumulating 777 receiving yards and scoring four touchdowns. Aside from a season lost to injury in 2016, he has consistently finished with over 700 yards each year. Brent Sobleski from Bleacher Report recently highlighted the necessity for the Ravens to sign Allen, emphasizing that the team has historically welcomed experienced players who can still perform at a high level.
"Baltimore also wanted to get bigger and more physical at wide receiver," Sobleski noted. "Keenan Allen could round out the team's pass-catchers quite nicely." With a history of acquiring veteran receivers like Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, the Ravens could find a valuable addition in Allen, who boasts six Pro Bowl selections and a 2017 Comeback Player of the Year title.
The Ravens have faced challenges in the postseason, with Jackson only reaching one conference championship and still seeking his first Super Bowl appearance. With a relatively stable roster for 2026, highlighted by the addition of edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, the team is hopeful for a strong playoff run. Adding a player like Allen could significantly bolster their offense, especially given the vulnerability of their receiving group should Flowers be sidelined by injury.
