Large salaries suggest 4 undrafted free agents have best odds with Broncos

The Denver Broncos signed 13 undrafted free agents following the NFL draft (they later swapped out one cornerback for another), and fans will be eager to track the UDFAs during training camp this summer.

Denver has a great history of landing UDFA gems, including wide receiver Rod Smith, cornerback Chris Harris, pass rusher Shaq Barrett and running back C.J. Anderson, who all won at least one Super Bowl with the Broncos.

Denver's had at least one UDFA make the active roster in 21 of the last 22 seasons, and there are a few strong candidates who could continue that trend in 2026. Everyone will get an opportunity to impress this summer, but their contracts could provide early clues about how the Broncos ranked each player coming out of the draft.

Texas A&M linebacker Taurean York ($325,000 guaranteed) and Iowa State offensive lineman Tyler Miller ($275,000 guaranteed) both received $25,000 signing bonuses, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. That might make them the early favorites to make the 53-man roster.

Additionally, Denver gave $20,000 signing bonuses to Nebraska outside linebacker Dasan McCullough ($265,000 guaranteed) and California cornerback Brent Austin ($100,000 guaranteed), according to Klis. Those four players were the only ones among the 13 who received a signing bonus larger than $10,000.

Last year, Utah linebacker Karene Reid received the second-highest guaranteed salary ($249,000) among the Broncos' 2025 UDFA signings, and he went on to make the active roster. So it's probably fair to say that York, Miller, McCullough and Austin should be considered the early favorites among the 2026 UDFAs to make the 53-man roster.
