There are baseball fans who politely clap through adversity. Then there was Livvy Dunne on Saturday night. As soon as George Springer crushed a leadoff home run off Paul Skenes during the Pittsburgh Pirates matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays, cameras immediately caught Dunne’s brutally honest reaction from the stands.
“F—!”
Honestly, plenty of Pirates fans probably yelled the exact same thing. The moment quickly exploded online because Dunne’s reaction did not look staged, filtered or celebrity-polished. It looked exactly like someone watching their boyfriend give up a homer on the third pitch of the game in real time. And baseball fans absolutely loved it.

Livvy Dunne accidentally became the most relatable Pirates fan alive
The funniest part of the viral moment was how quickly fans started treating Dunne like a lifelong baseball diehard. Many of the comments became quite popular throughout the day on social media.
Others were impressed by how emotionally invested Dunne looked throughout the entire sequence. Instead of the typical celebrity cutaway where someone barely reacts, Dunne looked genuinely devastated by the crack of Springer’s bat. For Pirates fans, the reaction may have been painfully familiar.

Even Livvy Dunne later realized the moment was hilarious
Dunne eventually leaned fully into the viral attention afterward. She reposted the clip to Instagram and jokingly captioned it, “Me just trying to listen to meditation music.”
That somehow made the entire thing even funnier. The combination of immediate panic, accidental live-TV comedy and self-awareness afterward turned the clip into one of the more entertaining MLB moments of the weekend.
Meanwhile, Skenes endured one of his rougher outings of the season, allowing four runs on nine hits in Pittsburgh’s 5-2 loss. It also marked the second consecutive shaky start for the reigning NL Cy Young winner. The Pirates dropped to 26-26 on the season.
Still, the internet spent almost as much time talking about Dunne’s reaction as the actual game itself. Which probably says everything about how viral the moment became.
