Maxx Crosby Reflects on Ravens Trade Fallout: "It's Water Under the Bridge"

Maxx Crosby has finally shared his thoughts on the trade that didn’t happen. After an OTA session at the Intermountain Health Performance Center, the Las Vegas Raiders' All-Pro edge rusher addressed the offseason turmoil surrounding his near-move to the Baltimore Ravens.

When asked about the trade that ultimately fell through, Crosby referred to it as "water under the bridge" and expressed his desire to move forward. “I don’t really want to talk about that, to be honest,” he stated. “It was a long time ago. A lot of things I learned about what’s going on, what this league can bring. A lot of adversity, a lot of different things, you can’t really anticipate a lot. But ultimately, I’ve been through a lot in my life. It’s nothing to me. It is what it is. I’m here. I want to be here. And I’m excited to be here.”

The trade, which was agreed upon on March 6, would have sent Crosby to Baltimore in exchange for two future first-round picks. This would have marked a significant moment in Ravens history as their first player-for-pick trade involving a first-round selection. However, the deal unraveled when a physical exam revealed a concerning knee issue. The Raiders announced on March 10 that the Ravens had backed out, but Baltimore did not provide further public commentary.

Despite the disappointment, Crosby has maintained a positive outlook. Friends within the league have noted that he is highly motivated, sporting a significant chip on his shoulder following the Ravens' decision not to proceed with the trade. As he prepares for the upcoming season, Crosby, who recently underwent meniscus surgery, indicated he is "really close" to rejoining full practices and is actively participating in team activities.

With the support of new defensive coordinator Rob Leonard, Crosby is eager to make an impact as he gears up for the season ahead.
