In the 2028 recruiting class, he stands out as the 18th best athlete and ranks as the fourth best player from Iowa. His overall ranking sits at 405 in the composite rankings provided by 247Sports.

Along with Michigan State, Stephens has also received offers from other institutions, including the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and South Dakota. Given that he is one of the early prospects to receive an offer from the Spartans, this could give Michigan State an edge in the competitive recruiting landscape.
