Michigan State football schedules games vs Oklahoma State, Cincinnati
Michigan State football’s future schedules are getting some major competition in the coming years.
The Spartans are picking up home-and-home series with both Oklahoma State and Cincinnati, the school announced Thursday, May 7. They also will host Duquesne of the Football Championship Subdivision in 2027.
MSU will travel to Oklahoma State on Sept. 16, 2028 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and host the Cowboys on Sept. 15, 2029. The two programs have never played before, and the Cowboys had a spot open up on their schedule with the cancelation of a series with Alabama.
The following two years, MSU will travel to Cincinnati on Sept. 14, 2030, and host the Bearcats in Spartan Stadium on Sept. 13, 2031. Despite their regional proximity and shared history with coach Mark Dantonio, the two programs have only met twice – MSU won 32-0 in 1930 but lost 18-7 in 1946, both games being played in East Lansing.
The Spartans will host Duquesne for the first time in the two schools’ history on Sept. 4, 2027.
MSU, coming off a 4-8 season, is scheduled to start the Pat Fitzgerald era on Sept. 5 against Toledo at Spartan Stadium.
