Neymar Makes Limited Return to Training with Brazil Ahead of World Cup

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) — Neymar made his return to the training pitch on Tuesday, marking his first session with Brazil's World Cup squad while he continues to recover from a right leg injury. Although he participated, Neymar was not at full capacity and focused primarily on physical conditioning at the team's training camp located just outside New York.

The 34-year-old forward had tests on his right calf on Monday to assess the status of the injury he sustained while playing for Santos on May 17. This is Neymar's fourth appearance in the World Cup, but he has yet to engage in complete training with the rest of the team during their preparation.

He is not anticipated to play in Brazil's upcoming match against Haiti on Friday in Philadelphia. The five-time World Cup champions opened their tournament with a 1-1 draw against Morocco last Saturday in Group C.

In Brazil, there has been considerable discussion regarding Neymar's selection for the tournament by coach Carlo Ancelotti, especially given his injury history. After Tuesday's session, Neymar remained on the field for a while to take photos with his partner and daughters.
