Offensive Lineman Amaziah Siale Chooses Cal, Reflects on His Commitment
Amaziah Siale, a standout offensive lineman from Mission Viejo, California, has officially announced his commitment to the University of California, Berkeley. This decision culminates a months-long recruitment process, primarily between Cal and the University of Utah. Following an official visit to Berkeley over the weekend, Siale decided the Bears were the right fit for him.
"I was at Cal for the Spring Game in April and that’s when I really started thinking more about them," Siale shared. He expressed enthusiasm about his visit, stating, "I had a great visit and really enjoyed everything about the school and the coaches." After setting up his official visit shortly after the spring event, he found the experience to be transformative, concluding, "It just felt like home. I knew that was where I needed to be."
Cal’s offensive line coach, Famika Anae, played a crucial role in Siale’s recruitment. "Coach Anae is a great guy and a great coach and I’m excited to play for him," he said, noting their strong bond extends beyond the field. Siale also praised the enthusiasm of the coaching staff, particularly Coach Tosh Lupoi, whose energy he believes will contribute significantly to the program's resurgence.
Standing nearly 6-foot-6 and weighing around 365 pounds, Siale is a formidable tackle prospect with impressive length and mobility. With 34-inch arms, he has the versatility to potentially play either tackle or guard at the collegiate level. After missing his junior season, Siale is eager to capitalize on his senior year and maximize his potential.
