Oklahoma Sooners Impress Elite Prospect During Recent Visit

The Oklahoma Sooners appear to be making significant strides in their recruiting efforts for the 2027 class, particularly after hosting several high-profile prospects over the past weekend. One standout visitor was Corey Laga, a three-star offensive tackle from Lemont High School, who expressed enthusiasm about his experience in Norman, Oklahoma.

Following his visit, Laga shared his thoughts with Rivals, stating, "Visit was amazing! The hospitality and attention I was shown there showed me that I am a priority, and that means a lot." He highlighted the impact of offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, praising his commitment to player development. Laga also noted that head coach Brent Venables emphasizes both winning and the welfare of his players.

At 6'5" and 260 pounds, Laga possesses the versatility to transition to an interior offensive lineman, a position where the Sooners are looking to bolster their roster. Currently, the team has secured commitments from three interior linemen and two tackles, one of whom, Cooper Hackett, is considered one of the top in the nation. Kaeden Penny, although listed as a tackle, is expected to play inside due to his height.

Laga's keen interest in the Sooners is evident, especially after his initial visit. As Oklahoma continues to host more recruits, this period is crucial for establishing connections and enticing prospects to commit. Historically, the Sooners have excelled in creating memorable visits that lead to immediate commitments, as seen with recent recruit Uhila Wolfgramm.
