Ole Miss Baseball Game Against Nebraska Postponed Due to Inclement Weather
LINCOLN, NE — The Ole Miss baseball team's matchup with Nebraska in the Lincoln Regional is on hold until May 31, following a weather delay. The game, which was suspended at 10:20 p.m. on May 30, saw the Rebels leading the Cornhuskers 6-3 as they approached the ninth inning.
This contest is a critical winner's bracket game taking place at Haymarket Park. Ole Miss (37-20) found themselves behind early but surged ahead after trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning. The Rebels' starting pitcher, Taylor Rabe, delivered a strong performance, allowing just one run over six innings. Notably, Owen Paino contributed significantly with a two-run double during a pivotal three-run sixth inning, and the Rebels added two more runs in the seventh through bases-loaded walks.
If Ole Miss secures a victory, they will compete against the winner of the Nebraska versus Arizona State game on May 31 at 7 p.m. The Cornhuskers and Sun Devils are set to face off in an elimination game earlier that day at 2 p.m. Should Ole Miss win their next game, they will advance to a super regional against the victor of the Auburn Regional. Conversely, a loss would lead to an additional game against the same opponent on June 1 to determine the regional champion.
The Lincoln Regional has seen an exciting series of games in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, with Nebraska previously defeating South Dakota State and Ole Miss narrowly overcoming Arizona State.
