Oregon State Welcomes New WR Landon White Following Commitment

Oregon State University has added a new talent to its football roster with the commitment of Landon White, a wide receiver from Rancho Cucamonga, California. After visiting the campus over the weekend, White made the decision to join the Beavers earlier today, confirming the anticipation surrounding his visit.

In discussing his choice, White expressed a strong connection with the coaching staff, particularly with wide receivers coach James Finley. “I really mess with Coach Fin, that’s my guy,” White stated. “We grew up in the same area and he knows my family.” He emphasized that Finley understands him better than anyone else and believes he is the ideal coach for his development. White also praised head coach Jonathan Smith, noting, “He really pushes brotherhood and you can tell he really cares about us as more than just players.”

White's decision was influenced by his desire for early playing time and his comfort in Corvallis. He remarked, “I like Corvallis, it’s a cool college town. I fit in really well and I had a strong comfort level.” He appreciates the community's support for Oregon State and feels confident in his ability to contribute right away. “I think I can come in and play early as well. I have to come in and work hard but coach Fin is going to push me,” he added.

The talented receiver had an impressive junior year, recording 43 receptions for 815 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 19 yards per catch. His performance at the Under Armour Next Camp in Los Angeles showcased his skills further, where he clocked one of the quickest 40-yard dash times. With his dynamic playmaking ability, White is poised to make a significant impact for the Beavers.
